Canada’s Draxel defeats Britain’s Clark in second round qualifying at Miami Open

Canada’s Liam Draxl beat Britain’s Jay Clarke 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in the second round of qualifying at the Miami Open on Wednesday.
Draxl, of Newmarket, Ont., won in 2 hours and 36 minutes to earn a spot in the main draw of the Masters 1000 Championship.
He will face French player Quentin Harries in the first round.
Felix Auger-Aliassime and Gabriel Diallo of Montreal also made the cut, along with Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ont.
Victoria Mboko from Burlington, Ont., and Leila Fernandez from Laval, Que., competed in the women’s singles draw.
The competition will last until March 29th.
