Sabalenka beats Nokova to advance to Indian Wells final

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. — Two-time Indian Wells runner-up Aryna Sabalenka will get another chance at the title after defeating Linda Noskova 6-3, 6-4 in Friday’s semifinals.

World No. 1 Sabalenka from Belarus defeated Nokova Nokova in 1 hour and 28 minutes on Court 1 of the Stadium at the BNP Paribas Open.

Sabalenka made 38 of 58 first serves against Noskova, the 14th seed, with 11 aces and entered the final for the third time in four years. She will face either Elena Rybakina or Elena Svitolina in the championship on Sunday.

Sabalenka suffered her only setback in 2026 when she lost to Rybakina in the Australian Open final. Sabalenka improved to 12-1 with Friday’s victory after reaching her sixth consecutive WTA Tour semifinal. Her last loss before that round was to Rybakina in the quarterfinals in Cincinnati last August.

Noskova saved seven of 10 break points on serve to keep the match within a hair’s breadth. The Czech team lost 0-2 to Sabalenka.
