Indian Wells tennis preview, picks, and predictions: Alcaraz vs. Norrie

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Cameron Norrie is low-key one of the most exciting competitors in the men’s game right now.
Norrie has been incredibly respectable for 3-5 years in their impressively extensive history, which includes victory in the 2023 Rio de Janeiro final. The British left-hander also won the 2022 Cincinnati Masters and their most recent appearance at the Paris Masters this past fall. What’s even more interesting about this matchup is that Norrie almost always wins whenever he competes. When Alcaraz gets the job done, it’s usually in convincing fashion. Four of Spain’s five victories have come in straight sets without a single tiebreaker.

Norrie will never be completely taken down in this tournament, which has to be considered his favorite outside of Wimbledon. The 30-year-old lifted the trophy in 2022 and this is his third quarterfinal appearance since that result. It came at the expense of Mackenzie McDonald, Alex de Minaur, and Rinky Hijikata – all with simple straight sets.
Unfortunately for Norrie, the Alcaraz is in pretty good shape. The world No. 1 is 15-0 this season and has been impressive in his pursuit of his third title in the desert, where he has knocked out Grigor Dimitrov, Arthur Rinderknech, and Casper Ruud.
You have to think this is going to be one of their regular Alcaraz matchups.
Pick: Alcaraz at 2
