Victoria Mboko, Mira Andreeva eliminated from Indian Wells women’s doubles

Canada’s Victoria Mboko and Russian doubles partner Mira Andreeva lost in straight sets to Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina and Serbia’s Aleksandar Krunic in the quarterfinals of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells on Wednesday.

In this hard-court match that lasted 1 hour and 21 minutes, fifth seeds Danilina and Krunic won 7-6(7), 6-2.

Danilina and Krunic converted four of their six break points and won 72.5% of their first-serve points.

Mboko and Andreeva hit 2 of 5 break points, with a first serve scoring rate of only 57.8% and 4 double faults.

Women’s singles No. 10 seed Mboko of Toronto will face top seed Sabalenka of Belarus in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

The Canadian’s clash with Sabalenka will be a rematch in the fourth round of this year’s Australian Open, with Sabalenka winning in straight sets.
