Canadian player Dabrowski and Brazilian partner Stephanie advance to Dubai doubles final

Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski reaches the finals of the Dubai Championships.

Dabrowski and partner Luisa Stefani of Brazil defeated Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina and Serbia’s Aleksandar Krunic 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 in the doubles semifinals on Friday.

Dabrowski and Stephanie converted four of nine break point opportunities and won 67.5 percent of their first serve points. The fifth seed rallied after losing the first set and ended the match in 1 hour and 29 minutes.

Dabrowski and Stefani will face Germany’s Laura Sigmund and Russia’s Vera Zvonareva in Sunday’s final.

Dabrowski reunited with Stefani this season after ending a 2 1/2-year relationship with New Zealander Erin Rutliff, who won multiple titles, including two U.S. Opens.

Dabrowski and Stefani previously won the 2021 National Bank Open in Montreal and are chasing their first WTA doubles title since the reform.
