Based on current form, Luciano Darderi and Sebastian Baez are arguably the two best players making the Golden Swing rounds this season. As such, it is no surprise that they will meet in the semi-finals of the Argentina Open on Saturday.
Baez leads the head-to-head series 4-3, but Darderi has won their last two meetings – 6-0, 6-2 in the Bastad final last summer and 6-3, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the recent Australian Open.
Given those results and Darderi’s red-hot form since 2025, he should have a slight edge this time around. He is on a 16-match clay court winning streak, a streak that includes two ATP titles and one victory on the Challenger Tour.
