Canada’s Gabriel Diallo loses to Ben Shelton in straight sets at Dallas Open

Canada’s Gabriel Diallo lost to American Ben Shelton 6-4, 6-4 in the men’s singles match at the Dallas Open on Tuesday.
The Montreal native hit six aces and three double faults and won 81 percent of his first-serve points.
However, he failed to seize the opportunity three times in the first round.
Shelton, the No. 2 seed in this tournament, hit 13 aces and made 3 double faults, with a first-serve scoring rate of 82%.
He also converted two of his three break point opportunities.
Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ont., was scheduled to face Spain’s Rafael Hodar in the first round.
