Previews and predictions for Rotterdam, Dallas, and Buenos Aires

February swings heat up this week with one of the best 500-point tournaments of the tennis season. Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev withdrew from Rotterdam, but the field still includes Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Bublik. Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton are playing in Dallas, while Joao Fonseca is looking to defend his Buenos Aires title.
Here are this week’s contests.

ABN AMRO Open

WhereLocation: Rotterdam, Netherlands
The face: It’s hard at home
Points: 500
Prize money: 2,462,660 Euros

Top seeds: Alex de Minaur
2025 hero: Carlos Alcaraz (not playing)

Draw an analysis: De Minaur may be the No. 1 seed. 1, but his draw didn’t do him any good. He has to face Arthur Fils in the opening round before meeting Stan Wawrinka in the last 16 and Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals. Medvedev and Ugo Humbert also find themselves in the top half of the bracket and will face each other in the round-robin. In addition to De Minaur vs. Fils and Medvedev vs. Humbert, other first round games to watch are Tallon Griekspoor vs. Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Bublik vs. Hubert Hurkacz. Auger-Aliassime, the 2nd seed, just won the Montpellier event on Sunday. It was his ninth ATP title and eighth on indoor hard courts.

WhereLocation: Dallas, Texas
The face: It’s hard at home
Points: 500
Prize moneyPrice: $2,833,835

Top seeds: Taylor Fritz
The defending champion: Denis Shapovalov

Draw an analysis: Fritz has dealt with all sorts of physical problems at the Australian Open, but the American continues to insist on playing week after week. So, she’s back on the horse in Dallas – where she’s on track to face Frances Tiafoe in the quarterfinals. Apprentice Tien could be a semi-final opponent for Fritz or Tiafoe, but the fast-rising left-hander has a tough first-round test on his hands against Marin Cilic. Under the draw, Shelton will start his week against Gabriel Diallo before running into Montpellier runner-up Adrian Mannarino in the second round with Tommy Paul in the last eight. Defending champion Denis Shapovalov is in a tough bracket along with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Grigor Dimitrov, and Alex Michelsen.

Argentina Open

WhereLocation: Buenos Aires, Argentina
The face: Clay
Points: 250
Prize moneyPrice: $675,310

Top seeds: Francisco Cerundolo
The defending champion: João Fonseca

Draw an analysis: Luciano Darderi and Sebastian Baez are arguably the two hottest players on the field in Buenos Aires, but they will face each other in the semifinals instead of the finals. Both are under the bracket and should have no problem getting to semis where the part is weaker than the top. No. 1 seed Francisco Cerundolo may have to beat Matteo Berrettini in the quarters and Fonseca in the semis to get back to the finals. Fonseca defeated Cerundolo in last year’s match.

It’s hot: Luciano Darderi, Sebastian Baez

It’s cold: Daniel Altmaier, Matteo Berrettini, Facundo Diaz Acosta, Mariano Navone

Forecasts for the last quarter: Francisco Cerundolo over Vit Kopriva, Tomas Martin Etcheverry over Joao Fonseca, Sebastian Baez over Francisco Comesana, and Luciano Darderi over Pedro Martinez

Semi-finalist: Cerundolo over Etcheverry and Darderi over Baez

Finally: Darderi over Cerundolo
