Adelaide tennis preview, picks, and predictions: Tsitsipas vs. Vukic

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Aleksandar Vukic will meet for the second time in their careers when they clash in the first round of the Adelaide International on Tuesday evening. Tsitsipas won their last meeting 6-3, 6-0 in 2024 in Los Cabos.

The Greek, 27, is coming off a difficult 2025 campaign, but his early return this season is very encouraging. He went undefeated in the United Cup last week, defeating Shintaro Mochizuki, Billy Harris and Taylor Fritz.

Vukic also struggled mightily last year, compiling a 15-29 record on the big tour that dropped him to 87th in the rankings. The 29-year-old Australian played in Brisbane last week and it didn’t go well, as she lost to Frances Tiafoe 6-2, 6-2.

While Vukic plays well on home courts in Australia, Tsitsipas tends to play well Down Under. The former world No. 3 is an Aussie Open runner-up and has reached the semi-finals in Melbourne on three other occasions. More importantly, he played well in the United Cup and handled Vukic in their first match – so Tsitsipas should go into this one with a lot of confidence.

Pick: Tsitsipas at 2
