Los Angeles really should have won; was the better team for most of that game. Confidence should still be high, and the Rams enjoyed a bit of a bye since Week 17 was Thursday Night Football. They’re playing with more rest, they’ll be motivated to lose, and they have more reason to win this particular game since they own the Falcons’ first-round draft pick in 2026. Every Atlanta loss helps.
The last time the Falcons faced an opponent that is currently within the playoff cutoff line was week 14 against Seattle, a team that just beat L.A. The result was a humiliating 37-9 home loss. Now is Atlanta priced to stay within one zone of the super-powered Los Angeles team? That seems very generous. Veteran backup Kirk Cousins has looked decent in place of Michael Penix Jr. under center, but a stagnant QB against Jared Verse and a dangerous Rams pass rush is not a recipe for success.

LA can record Atlanta down. The likely script for Monday’s game is for the Rams to build a big lead right away and run out the clock. That’s where Williams went to work. He ran 23 times in last week’s loss to Seattle and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get at least 20 for the Falcons.
The Notre Dame product faces a defense that ranks No. 25 against the run, giving up 128.2 yards per game on 4.6 yards per carry. Williams has rushed for 70 yards or more on six of his last seven carries, including more than 80 three times during this stretch.
