Not sure about the 2026 return date

Arthur Fields has been sidelined for almost the entire second half of the 2025 tennis season with a stress fracture in his lower back. He left the French open before the triathlon and played only one event all year.
Already fighting a back problem heading into Roland Garros, FIL defeated Nicolas Jarry in four sets before surviving an epic Munar in Jaume. The 21-year-old could not take the court against Andrey Rublev two days later.
Fils returned to the Toronto Masters in late July, where he beat Pablo Carreno Busta and then lost to Jiri LehecA. The Frenchman did not play another game in 2025.
“I got injured, I beat Jarry and Mar in a tough match,” Films revealed in a recent interview with French Media Outlet 20 minutes. “I have proved things. But with another information, I made a decision not to play in this tournament.
“I played in Toronto. Unfortunately, I might not be back too soon. So after that, we took our time.”
Ranked 14th at the French Open and now up to No. 40, the FILS are not sure if he will be ready to return in 2026. But he’s also not worried about it.
“The most important thing now is the next period of training,” he said. “There will be with continued hard work, good training both medically and physically – continued treatment. But I don’t have a date yet. Actually, it’s not the most important thing.
“Honestly, [recovery] it’s going well. Obviously you have to be patient; Time consuming. But everything is fine. “
