Flavio Cobolli tied for championship week at the Davis Couff Finals by providing a calching point for Italy on Sunday evening in Bologna. Cobolli came back to beat Jaume Munar 1-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5, ending a 2-0 lead for Italy’s Hold Italy.

The 23-year-old spent the court in one set and pitched in the second opening match before starting his comeback. He quickly broke him at 1-1 and finally played a flawless Timebreakekekeki to force the power. Both players held all the way before Munar finally leveled at 5-5. Cobolli then took out the match easily 6-5 to secure his country’s third Davis Cup Trophy.

Cobolli’s success was preceded by Matteo Berrettini’s 6-3, 6-4 defeat of Pablo Carreno Busta in the opening rubber. Berrettini fired 13 aces without being served twice and did not face a single break point.

Two rubbers last two rubles in Bologna for six hours combined. He beat Zizou in Bergs of Belgium – from the Seven Match Pollt down – in three hours and four hours on Friday before exiting Munar in two hours and 56 minutes.

Cobolli and Berrettini combined for a 6-0 Medingles overall record this week. As it stands, the Italian doubles duo of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavason have never seen the court.

Jannik Sonner led Italy to victory in 2023 and 2024 when the competition was held in Spain (Malaga), but the world No. 2 skipped this event this year.
