The big week on the ATP tour starts on Monday in Switzerland Indoors Basel, where there is nothing. All-Affair Affair stars Jenson Brookby and Alexandre Muller.
Lorenzo Sonego vs. (8) Alejandro Damovich Fokina
DavidOVich Fokina and Sonego will be going for the second time in their careers when they clash around one of the Swiss relatives Indlu Basel on Monday. Their only previous meeting did not disappoint; Sonego won 6-2, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6 (6) at the 2019 Clart Challenger Final in Genoa.
Fast forward to 2025 and David. About the only thing missing for the 26-year-old Spaniard is the incomparable ATP title, but he sent three runner-ups (delray beach, acapulco, Washington). Sonego has appeared in this area this year. The top-ranked Italian reached the Australian Countfinals and the Wimbledon fourth round, but he couldn’t hope for much outside of those two slams. Although no one was ahead of the interior, Sonego would probably like to compete with these natural sports – clay or grass. ADovich Fokina is very often in top form and should take care of business.

(Pr) Jenson Brooksby vs Alexandre Muller
Given that Brookby missed essentially all of 2023 and 2024 due to a doping suspension, he should be commended for the work he put in throughout his comeback season. The American has earned 20 matches on the tour and has climbed up to 56th in the rankings. Brookby played well in the Asian heat, advancing to the Tokyo semifinals (losing to Taylor Fritz) and one round in Shanghai before losing to tallon griekspoor in three straight sets.
The 24-year-old’s first meeting on Monday is the second meeting with Muller. Their previous finish came this summer at the Cincinnati Masters, where Brookby won 7-6 (2), 5-7, 6-1. It is difficult to see Muller changing the target in Basel. The classy Frenchman has been a formidable striker in his last 17 games. In addition, he is 43-45 on indoor hard courts – while Brooksby is 26-14 in this area.
