Pegula becomes third in the China Open Semi-finals

Beijing – Jessica Pegula becomes the third American to enter the China Open after defeating compatriot Emma Navarro on Friday.
Pegula of the fifth seed wasted six fixed points in the opener but dominated 6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-1 in the next two sets
“I told myself not to be too frustrated,” Pegula said. “Just stay calm, try to relax a little, and don’t try to execute the game plan. This allows me to be more free.”
Next, Pegula faced Linda Noskova, who crossed the UK’s Sonay Kartal 6-3, 6-4.
Since the format was introduced in 2009, the 20-year-old Noskova has become the youngest Czech player and is about to enter the WTA 1000 semifinals.
In the nationwide encounter, other semi-final defenders Coco Gauff against third-seeded Amanda Anisimova.
