After the U.S. Open

Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime climbed to 13th in the world rankings on Monday after reaching the men’s singles semi-finals at the U.S. Open.

Aliassime, who reached a career-high sixth place in 2022, jumped 14 attractions and remains Canada’s tallest man.

The 25-year-old Montreal has reached the Grand Slam semi-final for the first time since the 2021 U.S. Open.

He frustrated the third seed Alexander Zverev, the 15th seed Andrey Rublev and the eighth seed Alex de Minaur before falling into then-Jannik Sinner in four sets.

Championship champion Carlos Alcaraz beat Sinner in the final to win the championship.

Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ontario, moved three positions to 26th after entering the third round of New York, while Gabriel Diallo of Montreal placed the two at 35th after the second round exit.
