Fifth Seed Jack Draper withdrew from the U.S. Open due to injury

NEW YORK – Jack Draper is the 2024 U.S. Open player, the fifth seed this year evacuated due to injury.
He was scheduled to play the second round with Zizou Bergs, who advanced to the third round through Walkover.
Draper has not been in the game since Wimbledon’s second round defeat, and the left-handed said at the start of the game that he had been battling painful bone bruises when his upper arm was in pain and he bothered him when he hit the player or forehand.
The British player then defeated Argentina’s qualifiers in four innings in his first round in Monday’s first round and later said he could not serve with his normal ability.
Draper reached the third round in at least all three games before the U.S. Open. Last year, he became the first person to reach the semifinals since Daniil Medvedev in 2020 without leaving the game before losing to ultimate champion Jannik Sinner.
