ATP Men’s Tour says profit sharing plans add $18 million in 2024 prizes

London – The ATP Men’s Tennis Tour will pay an additional $18.3 million in bonuses under the profit sharing plan launched in 2022.

The amount increased compared to the $6.6 million profit-sharing bonus for the 2023 Masters event.

ATP said that by increasing its profit branch, total compensation for ATP participants rose to a record $261 million in 2024.

The expanded Masters Tour site – men and women participating in the same match, larger draws and longer game schedules – has drawn criticism from players.

The background of all this is the demand for some athletes to ask for more money and more say in the sport.

The group Professional Tennis Players Association, co-founded by Novak Djokovic, filed an antitrust lawsuit against ATP, WTA Women’s Tour, the International Tennis Federation and the International Tennis Integrity Bureau in March, calling them “cartels”.
