Osaka does not congratulate Mboko on speech, Duck Media after NBO finals

Montreal – Osaka Naomi Osaka may not be advertising tourism for the city in the near future.

The Japanese star sometimes looks sour as the noisy Montreal crowd tries to make an impact in her 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.

About an hour after the competition, the WTA tour announced that Osaka would not be used for a press conference and provided the offer.

“I think Victoria’s performance was excellent,” Osaka said in the transcript. “I totally forgot to congratulate her on the court. … She’s really great.”

After a strong first set, the four-time Grand Slam champion seemed to collapse.

Early in the third set, Osaka was warned by the referee that he knocked the ball into the stands after the fault.

After the competition, when she was announced as runner-up, her speech was very short.

After a round of applause and yelling in the crowd, Osaka said, “Thank you, I think.

“I really don’t want to spend too much time, so I just say thank you to everyone. Thank you for my team, thank the players, thank you for the organizers and all the volunteers, and I hope you all have a good time.”

Some people on social media pointed out that Osaka did not congratulate Mboko.

Canada defended Osaka at her press conference.

“If that was her wish (don’t go to the press conference), I respect that, too,” Mboko said. “I still think Naomi is an incredible player and it will never change how I think of her. I think she is still a very good girl and I still look up to her.”

The party crowd may not be as polite as most tennis crowds. After Osaka’s double dissatisfaction in the first game, there was at least one loud “yes” in the stands. With Mboko gaining momentum after the game, it’s hard to prevent the fans who are preparing to play in Osaka from cheering.

The referees did try to keep the crowd quiet throughout the game, asking fans not to speak during points and repeatedly asking for less noise.
