Next time, Victoria Mboko and Naomi Osaka will play on the hard surface of Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Both Mboko and Osaka withdraw the Cincinnati Open on Friday, the championship announced.

The first round of the WTA 1000 Championship begins on Friday, with Mboko and Osaka scheduled to start on Saturday. Instead, each of them will make room for the lucky losers and take a break before the U.S. Open begins in late August.

The two competed in the final of the National Bank Open in Montreal on Thursday, Montreal distance and ended with Mboko’s first career WTA 1000 title.

Mboko is also fighting wrist injuries later in the game.

Burlington, Ontario native rose to 24th in the latest world rankings published Friday, becoming Canada’s highest woman. She will enjoy the Grand Slam seed at the U.S. Open for the first time.
